Rural Winnebago County Public Transportation

Powered by Reagan Mass Transit District (Reagan MTD)

Starting July 1, 2025, Reagan MTD is bringing safe, affordable, and accessible public transportation to rural Winnebago County. Our curb-to-curb, demand-response service is designed to connect residents to essential destinations—whether it’s a medical appointment, workplace, school, or grocery store. This service is available Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding holidays.

What We Offer

* In-town rides are defined as trips within the same zip code. Out-of-town rides are trips outside the zip code. Arrangements for in-town rides must be made at least one business day in advance; out-of-town rides require at least two business days’ notice.

Regional Connections

Reagan MTD also manages two Greyhound Connect intercity routes:

  • Western Route: Chicago to Davenport, IA, with stops in Aurora/Naperville, DeKalb (NIU Campus), Rochelle, Dixon, East Moline, and Davenport.
  • Southern Route: Chicago to Danville, IL, with stops in Elgin, Rockford, Rochelle, Oglesby, Bloomington/Normal, and Champaign.

These routes offer connections to Amtrak, regional airports, and other transit services, expanding your travel options beyond local destinations.
